Stéphanie LEPAREUX-COUTURIER MILLING EQUIPMENT FROM RURAL LA TÈNE SITES IN THE CROULD BASIN |
Abstract
The study concerns around forty querns from La Tène-period settlements in the Crould basin. The significant number of tools for rotary grinding, which typifies the assemblage, shows an early assimilation of this system for grain transformation and a preferential use of local stone for fabrication. Typological and technological uniformity of rotary querns during the period in question is demonstrated.
