Abstract
The Pigeonneaux site (Bussy-Saint-Georges, Seine-et-Marne) was discovered and studied during excavations carried out over twenty years. Three main but discontinuous phases of occupation were identified: the Late La Tène, the Early Roman period and a last phase between the middle of the 1st to the 3rd century AD. Only the second phase was thoroughly investigated. The establishment which was in use until the 3rd century AD is enclosed by large ditches linked to a series of ponds. They are part of a network of ditches that cover the whole of area of the Briard plateau.
