Olivier BAUCHET, Stéphanie LEPAREUX-COUTURIER THE WATER-MILL AT VILLENOY (SEINE-ET-MARNE): |
Abstract
An evaluation carried out on the banks of the river Marne has led to the study of a modern mill (buildings and millstones) for the first time in the Île-de-France region. These vestiges belong to a particular type of mill adapted for the large rivers of the Paris basin. Analysis of historical sources has also shed light on the different stages that marked the installation’s use dating to the heart of the industrial revolution.
