Anicet KONOPKA MEROVINGIAN POTTERY FROM BURIAL CONTEXTS IN THE ÎLE-DE-FRANCE: |
Résumé
This article provides a first appraisal of the state of research on Merovingian pottery from burial contexts in the Île-de-France. The corpus presently comprises 71 sites documented primarily by old finds and excavations, with the difficulties which that implies. Mapping of different data has resulted in a series of observations concerning quantity and distribution. Moreover, the project opens other lines of research concerning pottery deposits and demonstrates the pertinence of renewed study of these finds whilst highlighting several sites which deserve further analysis.
