Abstract
Excavation carried out in 2010-2011 at "17-25 avenue Grouard" in Lagny-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) enabled partial investigation of a vast cemetery in use between the mid-4th or very early 5th century and the end of the 8th century. Of the 286 excavated graves, containing more than 400 individuals, 126 produced abundant grave-goods. The 1,144 recorded artefacts, including 660 metal objects and 478 pearls, underline the significant nature of this cemetery. Observed characteristics, in terms of spatial organisation, funerary practices or the selection of the buried population and its state of health, fit completely into the corpus of sites from this period in the east of the Île-de-France.
