Abstract
Developer-funded excavation of the "ZAC des Épineaux" (Val-d’Oise) site at Frépillon was carried out by archaeological contractor Éveha from March to July 2015. Excavation covering an area of 4,2 ha revealed occupation dating from the 1st to the 12th century. Roman period remains are those of a staging post, whilst from the Merovingian period onwards a vast rural settlement covers the area. At the same time, a structured cemetery develops between the 7th and the 11th century, over and around one of the abandoned Roman-period buildings.
