Cyrille LE FORESTIER ARCHAEOLOGY OF MEROVINGIAN CEMETERIES IN THE ÎLE-DE-FRANCE: a collective research project

Abstract

"Archaeology of Merovingian cemeteries in the Île-de-France" is a collective research project which has documented 452 sites dating from the 4th to the 11th century. The purpose was to collect data inherent to cemeteries: number of burials, placenames, diversity of grave architecture, grave-goods, etc. This research has led to several syntheses covering different themes.
