Abstract
The "Trois Mares" site in Palaiseau (Essonne) has seen many preventive archaeological operations since the early 2000s leading to the discovery of a high status Celtic settlement, founded during the Middle La Tène and in use until the Roman period. The excavation centred on the artisanal sector revealed a homogeneous and original bone assemblage consisting of the limbs from four bovines, two cows and two calves slaughtered for a particular event. The quantity and quality of the meat consumed indicate importance of this settlement and, to our knowledge, its uniqueness.
