ROMAN SKEUOMORPH FIBULA:
a Sickle Shaped Example from Taverny "Les Écouardes" (Val-d’Oise)

Abstract

The fibula in the shape of a miniature sickle was discovered during an archaeological evaluation in Taverny (Val-d’Oise). The enamelled object belongs to the group of Skeuomorph fibulas and more precisely the very rare examples representing tools. The date of this almost unique object is problematic, but the chronology of the use of enamel and the pottery found on the site are concordant.
