Caroline TOUQUET LAPORTE-CASSAGNE, Marie DERREUMAUX, LATE IRON AGE OCCUPATIONS AT MESNIL-AUBRY |
Abstract
Excavations revealed an open site dating to the Early La Tène. The following Middle La Tène period sees the digging of a quadrangular enclosure, which remains in use until the first years of the La Tène C2. A second enclosure with a double ditch built and inhabited until the Late La Tène succeeds this first enclosure to the northwest. Several features are established on the site at the end of the period. The finds indicate that the occupation was mainly agricultural. Deposits, of which several are linked to commensality, represent ritual practices on the site.
