Ivan LAFARGE ELEMENTS FOR A TYPOLOGICAL SURVEY OF STONE-LINED AND MASONRY-BUILT |
Résumé
The on-going research programme concerning the archaeology of Merovingian cemeteries in the Ile-de-France has enabled collation and re-examination of archaeological data from numerous burial sites. Masonry-built graves, sometimes poorly characterised, appear to be recurrent from the early medieval period although their sociological functions are not easily apprehended. A new survey, based on recent excavations, refines interpretation and typological dating.
