Cyrille LE FORESTIER THE COLLECTIVE RESEARCH PROGRAMME |
Abstract
The research project follows on from the 2008-2009 excavation of an Early Medieval cemetery at Noisy-le-Grand, in Seine-Saint-Denis (Le Forestier 2012). The large amount of data from the excavation (bones, finds and sarcophagi) has given us the opportunity to learn more about funerary practices of the Merovingian period within a more global approach by studying the funerary and anthropological data, mortuary containers and grave goods. Colleagues from different institutions joined us on this project: Inrap, local archaeology services, universities and other bodies.
