Abstract

The "Petits Ormes" site at Saint-Pathus (Seine-et-Marne) is an open agro-pastoral settlement made up of four or six post-holed grain stores, storage pits, diverse pits and a combustion pit.

The one hectare site is split into two zones. The first is the dwelling itself which brings together all evidence of everyday life (pottery, loom weights, spinning whorls). The second is the farm and its storage structures. Erosion has erased all traces of the buildings, only the adjacent refuse pits have survived.

The finds are mainly pottery with three bronze objects and some animal bone. The pottery dates from the Late Bronze Age / Early Iron age transition according to Marne valley typo-chronology. The most pertinent comparisons reveal that the site is under northern influences in particular from the Aisne and Oise valleys.
