Abstract
This paper presents the results of the excavation of a pit dated to the Early Neolithic, discovered during an archaeological evaluation in 2013 in Marolles-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne) "le Calvaire", located at the Seine-Yonne confluence. This structure contained a varied and rich series of finds, including a set of schist bracelets and atypical macro-tools. The pottery décor and the flint tools date this ensemble to the final stage of the Blicquy-Villeneuve-Saint-Germain culture.
Despite the structure being seemingly isolated, it and the objects it contained are typical of several small settlements located on the interfluvial plain of the Seine and Yonne rivers and dating to the same chronological phase. The discovery has also shed light on the position of this area in terms of trade or in the economic choices made.
