Laure SIMON GALLO-ROMAN AND MEROVINGIAN GLASS FROM EXCAVATIONS |
Abstract
Several archaeological operations carried out at Lieusaint between 2004 and 2007, in different sectors of the "ZAC de la Pyramide" development site, all produced small glass assemblages. The objects came primarily from sunken features, particularly pits, associated with occupation levels dating from the Gallo-Roman (Early Empire) or early-Medieval periods. This specialist study firstly describes the finds in context and considers the dating evidence provided by pottery analysis. A summary of results identifies the different series present on the site, in comparison with data from the region or, where necessary, further afield.
