Abstract
This paper documents the first year of an Inrap research project (PAS "Palaeolithic and Mesolithic sites in Île-de-France and the region") with the objective of characterising the Mesolithic period in the Île-de-France region. It takes into consideration recent discoveries made in developer led archaeology, from either large or small interventions (excavations, evaluations, prehistoric and historical sites that have brought to light more ancient artefacts) compiling information on the chronology, the localisation and type of site. Conclusions can be drawn as to the small number of sites that have been dated using radiocarbon methods, the over representation of sites from the second phase of the period (dating based on typological analysis) and the small number of sites excavated on the plateaux.
