Yvan BARAT, Valerian VENET EPAPHRODITUS AND HIS "GAZELLE": A Souvenir from the Circus Maximus Found on the Fringe of the Île-de-France

Abstract

This object was fortuitously discovered in 1993 on a site on the borders of the Yvelines and Eure-et-Loir, between Pinthières and Faverolles (Eure-et-Loire) and Tartre-Gaudran (Yvelines). It is a bronze disc hinged fibula measuring 45 mm in diameter (the pin has disappeared). This discovery has been the subject of a note by Mr. Feugère (2002) and referenced in the Année Épigraphique (A. E. 2002, no. 00997).
