Abstract

The burial site of Vitry-sur-Seine was discovered in the alluvial plain during an archaeological survey. The radiocarbon analysis dates the burial to the Early Neolithic by 14C, however its grave goods, a limpet shell and a sandstone-quartzite adze blade, point to an attribution to Cerny-Videlles. This burial is part of a series of Early and Middle Neolithic I discoveries recently made south of the Seine-Marne confluence of which this paper proposes to draw up an initial assessment.
