Priscillia DEBOUIGE, Caroline CLAUDE, Camille COLONNA, Valérie DELATTRE NEW ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE CONCERNING A MEDIEVAL CONVENT |
Abstract
The Les Billettes Church, assigned to the Lutheran Church since 1808, is part of an old convent dating from the late 13th century and founded in remembrance of a sacrilege. In 2020, exploration of the sub-surface and foundations revealed layers related to the early phases of the convent, hitherto little known given the lack of a documentary synthesis or archaeological excavation. The investigation has provided an opportunity to assess the state of knowledge and reexamine certain interpretations.
