Abstract
Following on from the work of the l’association Jeunesse préhistorique et géologique de France (JPGF), preventive archaeology excavations during the last 20 years have documented a significant number of sites dating to the Late Iron Age in the Crould Basin and in the Morée (Val-d’Oise and Seine-Saint-Denis). The excavations were carried out prior to the extension of the Roissy Aeroport and on an industrial site in Gonesse, in a vast quarry in Plessis-Gassot and prior to the building of roads (Gonesse/Villiers-le-Bel bypass, Francilienne). Further south, two sites at Bobigny and Pierrefitte-sur-Seine/Saint-Denis have seen large-scale excavations. Until recently, publications have mainly focused on the funerary finds dating to the 3rd century, the domestic contexts having been put to one side. A necessary adjustment now needs to be made.
