ATYPICAL OBJECTS FROM LATE ROMAN AND EARLY MEDIEVAL BURIAL CONTEXTS
IN THE ILE-DE-FRANCE:

Inventory and Proposed Classification

Résumé

A collective research programme dedicated to the archaeology of Merovingian cemeteries in the Ile-de-France has assembled significant data concerning burial sites covering the late Roman to Carolingian periods and identified several subjects for further research. Amongst these, the presence of apparently atypical objects in a certain number of graves is the starting point for the present study.
