The Revue archéologique d'Île-de-France (RAIF), a regional human sciences periodical edited by the "Les Amis de la RAIF" association, was first printed in 2008. Its aim is to publish preventive and programmed archaeological research in the Ile-de-France area from the Palaeolithic to modern times.

The RAIF is supported financially by the Regional Direction of Cultural Affaires (DRAC) and by the departmental councils of the Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne and is distinguished by the institutional multiplicity of the archaeologists behind its creation and its everyday running.

The editorial board decides the periodical's general policy and a peer review system guarantees the quality of the papers published. These bodies, made up of professional archaeologists (departmental councils, regional archaeology service, INRAP, CNRS, Natural History Museum and Universities) and amateur archaeologists, provide the necessary independence for the flourishing research within the pages of the revue.

The dynamic archaeological activity in the Ile-de-France area was one of the main incentives for the revue's creation, the aim of which was to provide archaeologists with a regional platform to for the publication and diffusion of their work. The revue's ambition is to present and propagate research through annual publications and supplements which guarantee the territorial and chronological equity vital to the identity of a regional periodical.
